Gerald Lu is a highly accomplished sommelier with over 15 years of experience in the wine industry. He began his career as a bartender at the age of 17 and quickly transitioned to become a sommelier at the age of 23. For the past 12 years, he has been a co-founder of Praelum Wine Bistro in Singapore and has served as the current President of the Sommelier Association of Singapore for the past 4 years.
Gerald's impressive credentials include being a 2-time National Sommelier Champion and a judge for prestigious competitions such as Decanter Asia, Wine & Dine, and Appetite. He holds several qualifications from reputable organizations such as CMS, WSET, CSW, IWS, and Sake.
Despite his numerous accomplishments, Gerald's favorite part of his job is something simple yet profound - watching the sunset in Stellenbosch, enjoying a glass of Cape Sparkling and sharing laughs with friends.
