2017年度國泰航空香港國際美酒品評大賽頒獎典禮
泰國產區勇奪多個獎杯殊榮，澳洲囊括最多獎牌，氈酒備受關注
2017年11月9日（香港）— 2017年度國泰航空香港國際美酒品評大賽， 結果終於揭曉，多個最高殊榮的獎項悉數誕生。泰國參賽葡萄酒橫掃多個獎杯，澳洲產區展示實力包攬了最多金、銀、銅等獎牌。美國、奧地利和中國的獲獎葡萄酒亦是歷來最多，參賽表現亮眼。
「國泰航空香港國際美酒品評大賽頒獎典禮」是每年香港國際美酒展的重頭戲，由葡萄酒大師、品評大賽創立人兼董事Debra Meiburg，頒發61個標誌著最高殊榮的獎杯項目。頒獎典禮隆重舉行，邀得業界眾多貴賓、媒體、各國領事館代表和社會名流政要見證，共襄盛事。
亞洲美食與美酒配對大獎的競爭熱烈，比賽結果揭盅並且充滿驚喜。12個獎杯項目之中，亞洲產區橫掃共7個獎項：泰國和日本分別佔3個和4個。 緊接其後，澳洲贏得3個獎杯，美國、德國各得一席位。東南亞參賽葡萄酒展現強勁的實力，表現觸目，因此大會於本年度特新增一個獎杯項目，奠定東南亞產酒區不容忽視的地位。（獎杯項目得獎名單可參閱後方）
[亞洲美食與美酒配對 – 泰國葡萄酒成為美酒佳餚的配餐王者]
Asoke Valley 是泰國產區的明星酒莊，旗下三個葡萄酒款均贏得獎杯：
Asoke Valley Winery GranMonte Heritage Syrah Viognier 2014獲得「最佳葡萄酒配餃子」;
Asoke Valley Winery GranMonte Sakuna Syrah Rosé 2017獲得「最佳葡萄酒配蠔豉髮菜燜豬腳」
Asoke Valley Winery GranMonte Verdelho 2017獲得「東南亞最佳葡萄酒」
另外，Siam酒莊也為泰國贏得兩個配餐大獎。
[氈酒備受業界關注，成為品評大賽的焦點]
氈酒是本年大賽的重點，更有幸邀請到富達氈酒廠造酒大師（Master Distiller of Beefeater Gin）Desmond Payne作為國際特邀VIP評審。參賽的氈酒數量亦是歷屆最多，參賽數量大幅增加，是2016年的3倍半， 刷新記錄。在本年大賽中，氈酒類別共有兩項大獎 ：
芬蘭的Kyrö Napue Rye Gin獲得「最佳氈酒」
澳洲的Southern Wild Distillery Dasher+Fisher Mountain Gin獲得「最佳倫敦乾氈酒 」。
澳洲產區的氈酒已經連續兩年，在國泰航空香港國際美酒品評大賽取得獎杯項目。
[澳洲囊括最多獎牌，成為大贏家]
本年的品評大賽設有11個釀酒葡萄類別的獎杯項目，當中6個獎杯由澳洲獲得。當中McWilliam家族憑藉其Evans＆Tate Redbrook系列獲得雙冠軍，該參賽酒款系列獲得「最佳赤霞珠或赤霞珠混釀」和「最佳霞多麗」的大獎。 Australia Vintage Limited 同樣成績斐然，取得兩個釀酒葡萄類別的獎杯：Nepenthe Petraea Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc 2016獲得「最佳長相思」。Tempus Two Copper Zenith Hunter Valley Sémillon 2004獲得 「最佳賽美蓉」， 該賽美蓉酒款已經自2013年起穩坐這獎項的寶座。
[獎牌焦點]
澳洲今年保持驕人的獎牌成績，一共獲得多達430枚金、銀、銅牌成為榜首，而新西蘭和法國並列第二。 此外，中國亦獲得51枚獎牌，比2016年大幅增加39枚。奧地利亦從2016年的29枚增至2017年的47枚。另外美國共獲得46枚獎牌，比2016年增加了一倍多。
[評審焦點]
2017年大會隆重邀請到49位專業評審，來自11個亞洲國家或地區，成為一支泛亞洲的品評隊伍，為比賽帶來開放多元的概念， 廣闊而又專業的評審眼光 。評審隊伍，由5位亞洲的葡萄酒大師帶領： Sonal Holland MW (印度)、Ying Hsieh Tan MW (新加坡)、Kenichi Ohashi MW (日本)、本年新晉的Sarah Heller (香港)、以及 Debra Meiburg MW (香港)。而2017年度比賽的國際特邀VIP評審包括來自南非Benguela Cove Wine Estate and Mannings Heath Golf & Wine Estate 的首席釀酒師Johann Fourie, 和英國富達氈酒廠的造酒大師Desmond Payne。
[參賽焦點]
今年參賽數量整體上增加了3成，葡萄酒類別涵蓋33個不同國家，烈酒則有27個國家，共2000個葡萄酒和烈酒。今年氈酒的參賽數量增長最為顯著，對比上年增幅了兩倍半。另外，法國和亞洲烈酒的參賽數量同樣有大幅增加，其中中國白酒的數量比2016升幅高達5倍。
