香港贸发局成立于1966年,为香港制造商、贸易商及服务商的国际营销伙伴。在全球有40个办公室,其中11个在中国大陆,是促进香港与大陆及亚洲进行贸易的平台。
随着2008年初香港特别行政区政府取消了葡萄酒关税,香港贸发局创立了香港首个国际葡萄酒与烈酒展。该酒展每年举办,吸引亚洲数以万计的买家与消费者参与。
2016年,为期三天的展会吸引了来自68个国家和地区的近20000名买家。与会的中国大陆、日本与中国台湾的观众均录得明显增长。展会最后一天(11月12日)向公众开放,吸引了近27000名葡萄酒爱好者。
